Students were given the brief to submit a design that encapsulates the things that have helped them love their time at Leeds, for the chance to have their design printed on
Last year we announced the exciting news that we were launching a sustainable bottle design competition with our sustainability partners, Chilly’s. Students were given the brief to submit a design that encapsulates the things that have helped them love their time at Leeds, for the chance to have their design printed on a bottle and sold in LUU’s Gear & Union Shop. First place: Prakriti Arora This design was selected as the winner, which means you can get your own limited edition designed bottle! The story behind the design “The biggest highlight of my time at Uni so far has definitely been the friends I have made – every figure depicted is based off someone who has made my time at Leeds more memorable and enjoyable. The picture is split in thirds and shows a typical day in a student’s life at Leeds. It starts in the library, then a catch up in Hyde Park with your friends, and ends on a night out! The style that was chosen is reminiscent of an old Indian folk art style called Kalamkari – which originates from the part of India I am from. Since coming to Uni, I have learnt to really appreciate and be proud of my culture and heritage so I wanted the design to reflect that too.” Comments from James, Chilly’s founder “I have always loved designs that you continue to find little details every time you look! This design has so much of this whilst still celebrating key aspects of Leeds. I love the overall energy and think the quality of the illustration is incredible!”

The next generation of the iconic Chilly's bottle has been thoughtfully designed for a premier drinking experience. This bottle is the perfect companion for your next adventure - it boasts a handy carry loop and keeps cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 hours. The series 2 features a soft-touch, anti-microbial drinking collar for a more comfortable sipping experience and a rubber base.
