A disappointing finish to one of Sonic's best animated adventures
The third season of Sonic Prime is nearly undone by stagnation, with its prolonged, redundant battles proving more tiresome than exciting. It also ends in a rushed and anticlimactic manner that doesn’t deliver the payoff or closure that was expected from a final season of what began as a great Sonic show. That said, there are some redeeming values. The vibrant animation is still visually appealing, the entire cast is wonderful, and there are some truly heartfelt moments between Deven Mack’s Sonic and Ashleigh Ball’s Nine. And while this season struggles to remain engaging throughout, Sonic Prime will probably still go down as one of the best animated shows to feature Sega’s speedy mascot.
