Its stylish wooden board comes with 16 wooden pieces, each piece having 4 different attributes of shape, colour, flat or hollow top and height. The aim of the game? Be the first to form a row of 4 pieces that share at least one attribute. Sounds easy but there's a catch : you don't get to choose the pieces you play, your opponent does! Quarto! has a 4 x 4 board and 16 pieces in which each piece has four dichotomous attributes; color, height, shape, and consistency, so each piece is either black or white, tall or short, square or round, and hollow or solid. The object is to place the fourth piece in a row in which all four pieces have at least one attribute in common. The twist is that your opponent gets to choose the piece you place on the board each turn!.
